The McMaster Actuarial Society is dedicated to bringing together the growing actuarial and financial mathematics community on campus by supplying resources for the Society of Actuaries and or Casualty Actuarial Society examinations, supporting actuarial students with questions and advice, organizing social events, keeping students up to date with actuarial news, and hosting student and employer events. We maintain an executive team with experience writing actuarial exams, and working in all of the actuarial fields. If you have any questions, or are interested and want to know more, do not hesitate to contact us by any of the ways listed below!

Annual Events​​

Information Session: A PowerPoint presentation in September for first year student outlining what the club does.

Exam Tutorial: We will be hosting weekly tutorials for Exams P and FM starting in September.

“Day in the Life of an Actuary”: Actuaries from the industry will come to campus in the Fall and explain their every day job, followed by Q&A.

ASNA Info Session: A PowerPoint presentation in November about the Actuarial Students National Association (“ASNA”) conference held annually.

Exam De-Stressor: We will host a social event before exams to unwind and relax.

Visiting actuary: An actuary will come in January to hold a question and answer session.

Exam Tutorial: We will be hosting weekly tutorials for Exams P and FM starting in January.

How-to-Register-for-Exams Tutorial: A PowerPoint presentation near the end of the semester showing students how to register for actuarial exams.

Exam De-Stressor: We will host a social event before exams to unwind and relax.
