About Me

Hey MacSci! I'm Devena, the Special Events Planner for the 2020/2021 academic year and I am looking forward to hosting some amazing events throughout the semester! As the Special Events Planner, I hope to maintain a sense of community within the Faculty of Science by increasing student engagement all across campus! When I’m not busy planning MSS events, you can catch me in IWC dancing off a long day of classes or strolling through the shops of Westdale. Although this is my first year on the MSS, I can't wait to work with such a dedicated team who is committed to creating a year full of MacSci excitement!

Goals and Projects ​

1. ​Coordinating a virtual I Love Science Day/Semester to promote the love of all things science at McMaster

2. Hosting the MacSci Appreciation Night to reward dedicated members of the science community for their contributions to student life on campus

Fun Fact About Me ​

One fun fact about me is that I have always wanted to be an Event Coordinator! I always say that if I wasn't studying science, I would definitely consider event planning as a full-time career! Special events can really make McMaster feel like a home away from home for students who miss their hometowns. I love seeing students get the chance to bond and make memories that'll last a lifetime!
